Nature's soothing ambience, fresh air, and breathtaking views are like a tonic for the mind and spirit. However, a trip to the beauty of nature may be an exciting adventure, especially if you have to navigate some tricky terrain like tiny alleyways and steep hills.

Visits to natural landmarks like mountains, cliffs, and waterfalls often require more forethought and planning than a typical vacation. Therefore, it would be best if you took care of these calls for your own security and convenience while travelling.

1. Be aware of the weather. The best time to explore the beauty of the waterfall is on a sunny morning. Avoid going to the waterfall area when it's raining heavily or during other extreme weather.

2. No matter how short the trail is, check it out by researching. Get to know about the track and make sure that everyone in your group can handle the ground.

3. Take care at all times, and help preserve the waterfall's pristine condition by not littering or otherwise causing harm.

4. Don't wear sandals or flip-flops. Bring hiking boots or shoes instead. They have great grip and support, which is important on the slick trails and rocks near waterfalls.

5. Stay on the trail and focus on your destination. Some people might want to explore more of the beauty of the waterfalls, but that action is risky and harmful for them or the flora and fauna there.

6. Put attention to the posted instructions. The warnings are there for your safety. The information in these instructions is frequently updated to reflect trail closures and other important details.

7. Never attempt to climb a waterfall or go near it. The surfaces are slippery and dangerous to walk on.

8. It is risky to jump off the cliff of a waterfall or one of its surrounding cliffs. There are many different reasons why you shouldn't do this, but one of the main reasons is the aerated water. That's because aerated water has less resistance, so it is harder to swim and come back to the surface after jumping. The other reason why you should never jump is because the surface is slippery and dangerous.

9. Only swim in the areas that have been designated as safe. It is not a good idea to swim around carelessly in the waterfall area because the aerated water may not be good for your safety.

10. Make sure the water is clean. Even at the waterfalls I'm familiar with, the water isn't always safe to drink or swim due to the presence of sulphur in it. So, check to see the water before you swim or drink.

1. Bring a printed map. We can't rely on electronics all the time when we're in nature. Things like losing service or having our cell phones cut off unexpectedly are always possible.

2. Bring water to avoid dehydration. This is no less necessary than the safety aids, make sure you bring some and stay hydrated.

3. Bring granola bars or snacks. You can bring your favourite snack here, but it will be wise if you get energising snacks to keep your body enough nutrition. You can have nuts, granola bars, or similar.

4. Bring a Camera. To prevent cameras from getting wet, it's best to get waterproof ones. Bring a camera that's better than just a phone camera, and play around with the shutter speed to see what kinds of shots you can get.

5. Have a first-aid kit in your backpack. Many waterfalls are far from places where you can get medical help, so it's important to bring your own first-aid kit when you go hiking.

6. Bring some change of clothes. Whether you want to swim, or stay warm after the exploration, bringing some changes of clothes is never wrong.

7. Raining gear. You should pack either a lightweight raincoat or one that is disposable in case there is a chance of poor weather at any time.

8. Sun Protection. You can bring a hat, sunglasses, and a bottle of sunscreen that you can use frequently. Please remember that sun protection is important in both hot and cold weather.

9. Navigational Tools. Bring a detailed, waterproof map and a compass to help you find your way.

1. Continue to do safety and common sense. There's no need to join in on some questionable activity at the waterfall just because other people are doing it.

2. Keep the area clean. Do not litter; consider bringing your own litter bag in your pack, you can also pick up any litter you see along the trail.

3. Don't do any destructive actions. This includes man-made facilities that have been provided for you, or natural properties such as trees, cliffs, or something else.

4. Stay polite and keep your manners good. Don't do anything that potentially disturbs others' experience at the waterfall, like screaming, making loud noises, etc. Instead, you can be kind and greet others with a smile.

5. Respect the life of animals and plants there. Again, don't be destructive and keep your manners good. This includes how you should not make the animals feel disturbed.

6. Respect nature and culture. If you're in Bali or another religious island, you have to be more and more polite because the area might be sacred since it's where people worship their god. You might not be allowed to wear too revealing clothes.
